Improved Services for Youth
You’ve told us that you want easier and better online access to services. That’s why, on January 27, 2012, the Government of Canada announced an enhanced approach to the way we serve young Canadians.
Interactive information and resources will now be available to you year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week on this site. To further help you with your employment goals, in the coming months we’ll also add new features to this site, including social media tools such as Twitter and YouTube.
Voice: a blog for youth, is already available on this site. It aims to answer your questions and help you find the tools you need to reach your goals. In addition, part of the Government of Canada’s innovative Working in Canada website is also now available on this site. It provides you with direct access to current information about jobs, including detailed labour market reports customized by occupation and location and featuring job opportunities, wages and skills requirements.
At Service Canada, we’re committed to providing youth with relevant work experience and opportunities to learn new skills. That’s why we will be continuing to hire students through the Federal Student Work Experience Program. If you’re interested, visit jobs.gc.ca to submit your application.
We’ll be engaging with key stakeholders in winter 2012 to seek out their views on the enhancements to this website. Over the coming months, further enhancements will be made to youth.gc.ca to better meet your needs.
